1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when you visit the website. They allow the site to remember your device and your preferences (for example, language, font size or login data) for a certain time, so you do not have to re-enter that information every time you return to the site or move between its different pages.
2. What cookies do we use?
We use the following types of cookies to ensure platform functionality and improve user experience:
2.1. Necessary cookies
These cookies are absolutely necessary for the site to function properly. Without them, some site features (for example, login, booking cart) would not be available. They cannot be disabled.
| Name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|
| sb-...-auth-token | Login session (stored in browser localStorage, not a cookie) | Until logout |
| cookie_consent_v1 | Storing your cookie choices (browser localStorage) | 12 months |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe fraud prevention on payment pages (only during payment) | 1 year / 30 minutes |
2.2. Performance (analytics) cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the site by collecting anonymized information about visited pages, time spent, and errors. They help improve the site's performance.
| Name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics - user identification | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics - session identification | 24 hours |
| _gat | Google Analytics - request rate limiting | 1 minute |
2.3. Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies are used by advertising networks to personalize ads and measure campaign effectiveness. Currently no advertising pixel is installed on the site (for example, Google Ads or Meta Pixel), so marketing cookies are not set. In the cookie settings, the marketing category is available in advance, and it is passed to Google's Consent Mode as ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. If we add advertising tools in the future, they will only work with your consent, and we will update this policy.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies on the site are set by third parties - our partners and service providers. We currently use the following third-party services, which may set their own cookies:
- Google Analytics 4 - visit statistics and site improvement (only with analytics consent; the script is loaded only after consent)
- Stripe - payment processing on payment pages (necessary cookies)
- Supabase - storing login sessions in the browser (necessary functionality)
We do not use Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Pixel or other advertising pixels.
To learn more about these service providers' cookie policies, we recommend visiting the respective companies' websites.
4. How to manage cookies?
The simplest way is our own cookie settings window. It is available on every page in the footer with the link Cookie settings or with the button below. There you can turn analytics and marketing cookies on or off and save your choice. The choice takes effect immediately, also after reloading the page and returning later.
You can also control and delete cookies in your browser settings, but this is not necessary to change or withdraw consent.
Here are links to instructions on managing cookies in the most popular browsers:
5. Withdrawing consent
You have the right at any time to decline non-essential cookies or withdraw previously given consent - it is just as simple as giving consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before that.
To withdraw consent, open Cookie settings (in the footer or with the button in the previous section), turn off the relevant category and save your choice. Manually deleting cookies is not necessary: we immediately update the Google Consent Mode status, stop sending data, and delete analytics cookies that we can access from the browser.
Your choice is stored only on your device, in the browser localStorage entry cookie_consent_v1, and is valid for 12 months. After that, we will ask again.
6. Your rights under GDPR
In relation to cookies and the data they collect, you have the following rights:
- The right to decline non-essential cookies - without consequences or service restrictions.
- The right to withdraw consent at any time - just as easily as giving it.
- The right to access your data and receive a copy of it.
- The right to rectify inaccurate data or complete incomplete data.
- The right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten").
- The right to restrict processing and object to processing.
- The right to data portability in a machine-readable format.
- The right to lodge a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate (www.dvi.gov.lv), if you believe your rights are being violated.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@palieclatvija.lv. We respond within 30 days.
7. Legal basis and data transfer
We process necessary cookies based on our legitimate interest in ensuring the operation and security of the site (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We process analytics, functional and marketing cookies based on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
Some third-party services (for example, Google, Stripe) may transfer data to countries outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, appropriate safeguards are applied, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission.
8. Policy changes
We may update this cookie policy from time to time, for example if the cookies used or legal regulations change. We will inform you of significant changes by publishing the new version on this page. We recommend reviewing this policy regularly.
